victim 31

"Kevin? Where are you?" It's been three days since I'd last seen Kevin at the safe house. He hadn't told me where he was going or why, hell, he never ever said he was going. But here I am, in a city full of zombies looking for my friend. This seems hopeless, he was probably bitten already, or worse. But I wasn't worried, he may have had a gun, but I had something just as useful.

An ordinary dog leash.

You may think it's a silly weapon, but let me assure you, it is very effective, and if used in good hands, namely me, it can destroy a zombies brain in one hit. Don't believe me? let's test it.

A zombie was walking slowly towards me, I took one step and its walk turned into a run. I got ready to launch the metal piece of the leash. It was getting closer, I didn't have much time, I was about to be bitten. WHAM! Right between the eyes. That's the thing about zombies, they have no idea what's coming.

I continued into the town without any luck at finding Kevin, I was about to give up when I finally saw a speck in the corner of my eye. I ran towards it, and the speck grew bigger, and bigger, until I could finally make out the mangled bits of muscle and organ. I continued just a bit further. I saw Kevins face, he looked almost disappointed. I don't blame him, it wasn't normal for him to go outside without a reason. I shook my head and walked away.

Just then, I heard a groan. I turned my head to look and saw what was left of Kevins body somehow coming back to life. I took off in a run. I could kill him in a second, but I don't think I could do that to Kevin. I ran, he wasn't far behind, I saw two zombie up ahead and started spinning my dog leash, then I ran right through them, ripping chunks out of both of their skulls.

I was led to a dead end. I looked over my shoulder and saw Kevin coming up close, I had no choice to but to climb over the wall. I got a jump up and managed to grab onto a bar and pull myself higher and higher, until I got over. Then I climb down the other side with a smile on my face and began to walk back to my house. I was feeling a little arrogant, so I lost a bit of focus.

Which may have been why I didn't see Kevin holding a metal pole behind me before he swung it into my head. After that I suppose he bit me, not that I can remember. I'm upset, but at least I know I died by Kevin's hand, there's some honor in that. And now my body makes do with a new life as a zombie, just watching out for it's next victim.

The End
