Untitled Inspiration Moment...

They were gone.

All of them.

Saphyre stood in the clearing, drenched with sweat and gasping for air. He'd been running non-stop for three days, pushing himself to the limits and beyond to keep going and get here before his foes.

But he'd been too late, and now they were gone.

Too exhausted to stand, Saphyre fell to his knees and looked around in disbelief.

They couldn't be gone, it was just impossible. There wasn't a trace of their existence anywhere, not even a footprint to show that they had been here.

It was as if they had vanished into thin air.

And now Saphyre was alone, with nowhere to go, and no-one to help him.

He was distraught, he'd run all this way, endured all that torment and pain and always just kept going, always hanging on to the knowledge that they would be there, waiting for him.

But they hadn't been.

They were gone.

The End
