The spirit girl's words echoed through my head like a drumbeat. Spirits often gave warnings, and I knew it could be dangerous to ignore them. But first I had to decide what her words meant. I decided to ask Gabby,
Gabby could see spirits, or so she claimed, and therefore it was only logical to seek her advice. Besides, she said I could ask her if I needed anything.
Slowly I rose from my seat and tiptoed up the aisle to where she and that other man sat. "Gabby," I whispered, "Hey. Wake up."
She looked at me in surprise. "What do you want?"
I told her about what I had seen, and what the spirit girl had said.
