Martin stared into Auvrea's eyes, and she looked back, their eyes locked, neither able to break the hypnotic gaze. There was so much to read from her deep blue eyes - grief, weariness and yet joy, happiness, a new revigorating force... He reached his rough right hand out, tucking a few loose strands behind her ear, and then placed it gently on her cheek.
"Auvrea... I..." he started to get embarrassed, "I... I don't know how to describe how I feel about you... I think it's more than love..."
She just smiled back, and placed her right hand on his cheek, too. He leaned a bit closer in, shifting his weight so he was comfortable. He felt her warm, clear breath on his face.
He whispered. "I love you..."
