Catabolism: Human: breakdown of complex molecules in living organisms to release energy. Cat: The obssesive and strictly routine relationship a cat has with her food bowl. Necessary to sustain energy levels.

Catalyst: Human: substance that does not itself change, but speeds up a chemical reaction. Cat: the thousands of reasons humans love us. We do not change but we certainly change them.

Catamaran: Human: a boat with parallel twin hulls. Cat: my human's lap. The perfect place to lie and dream.

Category: Human: class or division of things. Cat: There's us and then there's them-dogs, rats- meeuugh!

Cation: Human: a positively charged ion. Cat: The warm happy feelings cats get from lying on freshly ironed laundry
