Befriending Trixie

I awoke late at night to be alone, Dil probably woke up and went back to his dorm. I yawned and got up, going to the toilet and then coming out. I pulled on my wellies on coat and went outside investigating, just to see what was around.

Suddenly I tripped over something and fell flat on my face, I spat out some sand and turned to see Trixie staring at me wide-eyed.

"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" I rubbed at where my sandy wellies had got her dirty and picked her up, she giggled and smiled.

"I'm fine." she nodded.

"Are you hurt anywhere? Cause these are rather big boots!-"

"I'm really fine." she laughed happily. I smiled as we walked over the beach, sitting down on the sand and watching the moon glitter on the sea.

"So, how long have you been here?" I figured I'd know everything about everyone, so I could catch up with what everyone was talking about. And I needed a girl buddy.

"Since I was four." she nodded, looking out at the sea.

"Really? The goverment must've found you pretty early then." I smiled.

"Yeah, what about you?"

"I went around with my mother at a young age, moving from place to place. It wasn't really very nice...then the goverment took my mother from me. Took her to another island where they tested her. I haven't seen her in months." I shrugged.

"That must've been hard." she looked at my face. I shrugged again and looked up at the moon.

"I better go, otherwise I'll wake up at 12:00!" We grinned at eachother and sniggered.

"Me too."

It was convenient how our bedrooms were right next to eachother, and I liked the fact that I had a true girl buddy now. Well, hopefully anyway. I smiled as we waved to eachother and went off to bed.

The End
