I was losing my fight with Bane over this. I wanted to go, but he was half lying on Melissa, and she was crying. Because of me. Eventually I gave in and let him stay there. There was no way I was moving him once he was in control.
Apparently Bane had retreated on the sly in my sleep and changed me back into my human form. I tried not to think about how I was lying butt naked in Melissa’s bed when I didn’t want to be there. I heard her moan slightly, tightening her grip on me. I whined in response, wondering what to do about where I was.
"Stupid wolf,” I grumbled, rubbing my face. She didn’t say anything, clearly trying to avoid annoying me. I let out a sigh and she pulled away.
"Sorry," she murmured.
"Making you uncomfortable, I should've asked Bane to go."
"It's fine. I s'pose there's nothing I can wear here?"
"I dunno; these houses are so strange you could probably find something?" I stumbled out of the bed in search of something to wear. I went through every closet and drawer I found, but none of them had anything for me to wear. Melissa was curled up in the blankets on her bed, watching me.
"Don't say a word," I growled, pulling on a pair of lacy black knickers.
"My lips..." she giggled, "are fully sealed." I scowled at her.
"Go on, go find some clothes that fit you," she smiled slightly. Still glowering, I went back to looking for something to put on. She watched, her smile no doubt growing. A chest of drawers that I hadn’t noticed before sat in the corner of the room on its own, dark enough to blend in with the wall. I pulled open the drawers, finding a pair of boxers, jeans and a shirt in the first one. They weren’t the best in the world, but it was better than a pair of lacy pants. I stripped them off, balling them up and throwing them at her.
“Oi!” she sat up. I stuck my tongue out at her and she responded by throwing the knickers back at me. I caught them in my mouth, realising just how dog-like I must’ve looked as she arched an eyebrow, giggling. I spat them out on top of the chest of drawers making her smile. “Thanks, drool over my pants," she said with a wink. I snorted, amused until she stopped and watched me, confused. I sort of realised what was going on at the same time she did. "Umm... maybe you should go change into your own clothes?" she murmured. I nodded, pulling the clothes on, feeling almost embarrassed.
"Right, well, I should go," I muttered.
"See you... Lazarus," she said. She was still smiling when I was on my way out. I wondered why.
I sort of wandered around outside, not really knowing what to do with myself.
"You okay?" I looked over to see Casey sat outside of his house.
"You've been wandering around for a while. I just wondered if you were okay."
"I'm... fine," I mumbled.
"You don't sound it." I flashed him a smile, hoping it was enough to convince him. Apparently it wasn’t, because he looked all concerned. I sat down next to him, only just noticing I didn’t have any shoes on. "What's up?"
"I ended up at Melissa's last night and it was like it used to be for a moment and then it went all weird.” Neither of us knew what else to say, so I stayed quiet, just frowning at the floor like it would be able to explain to me what had happened. I felt him patting my back, but I was just trying to figure out what’d happened. I needed a drink.
