New home, new rules and new people.

Rhiana

The first thing I did was run a jump on the huge comfortable looking bed. I opened my mouth breathing in the sweetness of the pillows and the softness of the quilt. My pumps had already fallen off, as I slide of the bed feeling the thick cream carpet and readjusting my denim skirt.

"Some room." I muttered and went over to the desk taking my drawing pad out of my bag. I took a black pen from my case and began to draw without thinking about what it was going to be. There was a light knock at the door and then a voice.

"May I come in?"

"Sure." It was the other girl...Esther. "Pull up chair." She smiled and took the window sit near the desk.

"We have similar rooms." Her eyes noticing the ruffled pillows. "I'm Esther."

"Sorry I kinda erm...dived on the bed. I'm not used to them been that big, lots of soft pillows and smelling like that." A pang of guilt stabbed me in the stomach and I knew that I should be lucky that I had a bed even if it was small at the care home. I shook my head. "Hey I'm Rhiana, nice to meet you Esther."

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Should we go downstairs and investigate." I stood up avoiding her question and headed for the door hearing Esther feet behind me.

Ivory and the boy where having a deep ‘discussion' as it were, me and Ester didn't join in. I listened intently something you got used to in the care home. Then Ivory pulled out a necklace and handed it to the boy-Bishop, strange name. Then pulled out another circle dise pendant and handed it to me and turned to give one to Esther.

Bishop put the pendant his neck while Ivory told us the ‘rules' which were pretty straight forward. Esther moved closer to the group wanting to ask Ivory question but Bishop got in there first. Again I just watched everyone Bishop mostly as he attempted to change his appearance.

"I assume that since we are new to this we shall only know one before the others?" Bishop commented over his shoulder.

"Ask and I will teach. As an apprentice though you'll only be skilled in one as your strongest." Ivory informed smiling at Bishop then at Esther and me.

"Thank you Ivory, if you don't mind I'm going for a stroll". Bishop said casually but was stopped in his tracks by Ivory sharp voice.

"No! You may not leave the house with the pendant until I give you permission". I leant back against the wall, my sharp blue eyes watching Bishop and waiting for his response.

"Then I shall take my leave to my room, with your permission of course." He added sarcastically.

"You may go in any room in this house except the bedrooms especially mine". Her eyes narrowed and the warning tone in her voice crawled over my skin. After that Bishop left without a second glance.

"It is important that you remember the rules girls, now where should we start?" Ivory voice was brighter and her smile ran across her face. Looking at her more closely I could see how she coving her emotions.

I let out a breath that didn't know that I was holding in and looked circle dise  feeling the cool metal of the chain in my fingers. "Now Esther I believe that you wanted to speak with me before Bishop butted in."

I slipped out the door and walked around the corridors seen as though I couldn't go outside. "I feel trapped."

Stopping I remembered about the pendant in my hand and opened the clasp trying to do it up around my neck. "Oh come on."

"Allow me." Strong hands moved under mine taking the pendant and I moved my long deep brown hair off my neck. "Done."

"Thank you Bishop." I said softly turning to face him.

"Left up to you, you would be there all day." He replied shrugging.

"I wouldn't."

"Sure."

"I wouldn't." I stubbing said. A slight smile came on Bishop lips then went as quick as it came.

"Catch you later...Anna."

"It's Rhiana...get it right."
