The sudden entrance of the rubber-faced man, together with Skyrah's squeak of alarm about the mouse, just about shattered what was left of Ara's nerves.
What the.... Oh no, not again.
Ara faced the masked man, moving slowly to avoid causing any trouble, but making a point of displaying his claws and bladed heels as he moved. He couldn't tell if the mask was watching him, but something about the figure made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. It smelt strange, not quite human almost. Whether it was the mask or something else, Ara did not know. But whatever it was, he didn't like it.
Everyone else had gone silent, even Skyrah and Sealantus were still. Having finished shouting, the masked thing too stood still. Both sides watched, waiting for the other to make the first move. Swallowing slightly, Ara pushed the creeping anxiety out of his head and cleared his throat:
"What are you talking about?" he said, planting himself firmly a couple of feet in front of the figure. "What do you mean "rifle casing"? What do you want? If you want answers from us, you'd better explain yourself first, Rizak."
And please don't tell me you want to kill us. I'm getting tired of being shot at.
