Ara's ears pricked as he picked up a noise. It was quiet, very quiet, scarcely existant at all. Raven too looked as if he'd heard something, but he seemed to dispell it quickly. Ara was not so sure, it seemed pretty real to him. He narrowed his eyes and listened again.
If there really was something there, what was it? And if not, then why was he hearing things? Perhaps this room held more secrets than it gave away. Ara shivvered at the thought of undead spirits lurking in the room, their voices still echoing off the obsidian walls.
Even after the others started turning away to leave, the Halfborn stayed where he was. Listening for another trace of that sound.
A sound that seemed, somehow, very much more alive than it should...
