The living room was warmer then the basement had been, and the light made it a much more comfortable planning environment. The problem was, for once in his life, he didn't know what to plan about.
He had a fair idea how to escape, he just needed a few things some of the more... honorable people there might disapprove of him taking. But if only he could find them somewhere else. He'd seen the kitchen pull some sort of magic act like that before, but he was pretty certain the kitchen was in ruins now.
Then there was that room he'd been in earlier with the gold mist... but how was he supposed to find a room with a vanishing door? Surely there had to be a better way.
Then he had an idea. Corby said... she said she could travel through dimensions.
With a determined look in his eye, he stood and searched the room for her. He found her, a rather depressed look on her face as she starred out the window into the rain.
"Does bad weather upset you?" he asked casually. She looked up at him, but she seemed to be in a bad mood. He waited for a moment, but when she didn't answer, he continued. "It used to upset my mother as well." The faintest hint of sadness colored his voice, though he kept his face straight.
"So, I've got a proposition for you." he changed the subject abruptly. "You said you couldn't take people from dimension to dimension. But, what about objects?"
