Why am I Worth Saving?

Leigh sat curled among the pillows of the hideout inside The Hideout. Her arms wrapped around her legs. Rocking back and forth, huddled in her own little corner, she wondered why.

Why am I worth saving?
Why must I go on?
Why am I worth saving?
When my love isn’t strong?

When everything I’ve cared for,
Everything I’ve loved,
Has left me on the wings of a dove?

Why am I worth saving?
Why must I go on?
Why am I worth saving?
When my love isn’t strong?

She whispered the song to herself as she rocked in the corner. So softly did she sing, to not disturb anyone. She was all alone. She was always alone. She didn’t know how to be with anyone, even a friend. Forget love. Love wasn’t hers to have. Not like what Ara and Flamara had. She’d learned that long ago.

And now it was all crashing down. She wanted out of the misery, but she didn’t know how. She’d dug herself in deep this time. Too deep to get out alone.

The End
