The Hatter and I: Chapter One
The Hatter and I
Chapter One:
That Peculiar Man.
It was a beautiful, warm, summer evening on that day she met him.
At a large mansion, not far from the centre of London, resides a close family of five. As much as they seemed like an average, wealthy group of relatives, they were in fact hiding a great secret...Everyone of them, were pale, cold skinned, elegant blood desiring creatures of the night. Yes, the Liddell's were indeed, Vampires.
At the Liddell Mansion, 18 year old Georgia Liddell was upstairs reading as usual, when June, her Mother, called for her. "Georgia dear, come downstairs please I'd like you to meet someone!" Georgia sighed, closed her book, which she was rather enjoying, and placed it on her desk as she left her room. As she stepped quickly down the large marble staircase, she soon noticed her mother standing with her father, Howard in the living room accompanied by an unfamiliar man. From what she could see, it seemed he had almost white blonde hair, and wearing such odd, colourful clothes. 'How peculiar...' She thought to herself before hopping off the last step and curiously entering the living room. June spotted her from the corner of her eye and looked to her with a smile. The Man was standing with them, dressed in a long purple coat that fitted his slim figure nicely, with a tatty dark green top hat, lined with a pink silky ribbon which sat upon his head, yet that only seemed to look normal compared to his bright red boots. For a moment, her gaze seemed to be fixed on his dark, maroon eyes before her mother interrupted the moment. "Georgia, darling, this Farren Blake, he will be your new servant and guardian from now on," She began, Farren giving a small wave as she mentioned his name. "Your father and I have been invited to attend a private meeting in Japan, so we may be gone for a while. Because your siblings are away, we have kindly hired this man as your guardian. Being that he was cheap..." She said with a grin and patted her daughters shoulder lightly in a Motherly fashion, Howard also flashing a polite smile. Before either the man or Georgia could react to the womans introduction, they were again interrupted. "I shall leave you two to get antiquated!" The mother chimed merrily, with that taking a hold of her husband, dragging him out the room with her.
The Man stood with his eyes fixed to Georgia, with that odd, yet warming grin carved onto his face. "My lady." He bowed before her politely with a widened smirk. "...Ah, Good evening." She blinked, unable to avert her eyes away from the strange man. He chuckled, then took a step forward as to take her hand and place a gentle kiss on the top. She gave him an unusual look, thinking at first this man was some kind of mental pervert. However, something about him just seemed calming, so a bright smile suddenly amerged at her lips. Just then, he began to speak. "So," He started, releasing her hand and took a step back. "You are the famous daughter of June and Howard?" He said, his voice sounding clear and normal, which reassured her a little that he wasn't completely mental at the least and had a sense of language...
His grin lowered into a small lingering smile, dipping his hand into his pocket and taking out a Lolly for himself, starting to unwrap it as he continued. "They are quite well-know and high in society, if i am not mistaken? How has Kasper been doing?" He popped the Lolly in his mouth as he gazed over at her for an answer. Snapping out of curious observation of him, Georgia was reminded suddenly of her brother, Kasper, and her sister Elizabeth. "Oh...Yes, i am their daughter." She began with a light chuckle. "Mm, they are quite well know in society...Ah, Kasper has been well i suppose, though he is away at university at the moment so i haven't seen him for a while. Same for my sister." Mentioning her sister as the man did not. "Wonderful! And, how has Milady been doing?" He widened his grin once more, almost making Georgia feel a little sick from the constant glowing grins."...I have been doing fine. Just...slightly hungry.." She added accidentally, as she hadnt had Tea yet. He blinked and chuckled. "Well, in that case," Not letting his smile fade nor letting his eyes leave hers, he reached out his hand towards her. "Will Milady join me for Tea?" He asked ever so sweetly. Her eyes widened a little, thoughts running through her mind instantly. 'Is he mad?! We've only just met! And it would be most absurd for an older man, who is most strange, to be taking me out for Tea! And where on earth is planning on taking me?'
Flustered and unsure what to say she stared at him blankly, an urge deep within her grew, forcing her to suddenly put her hand in his. "...Ah...V-Very well." She replied without a thought, blushing slightly as she stared at him, still unable to detect what this man was thinking. He gave a light laugh, his palm warm to the touch. Knowing very well she was nervous and completely lost, he decided to encourage trouble. His fingers gently wrapped around her delicate hand, and he tugged her a little closer, very gently. "Well, then off we go, Milady!" He almost sung, his hand becoming more firm on the grip. A sudden sweet laugh escapes her mouth, finding the man oddly amusing. She smiled a little as she felt herself starting to get more attatched to this mad, merry man. Somehow growing used to him already...
