Rosie let out a slight scream.
"He can talk!" she cried, tempted to run around in circles. But one look from Anevia stopped her. That chick had serious problems.
So instead, she walked up to Alex. Alex. It's nice to call him by name, she thought. She reached out her hand for him, and he took it, stepping away from the mechanical leg he was clinging to.
"So, Alex. Could you understand us?" she asked him.
Alex nodded. "I hear names, Rosie, Anevia. Not much more." He stopped and cocked his head to the side, to think. Then he shook his head. "Not much more. Sorry."
Rosie nodded. "That's alright. I'm Rosie. And that," she said waving her hand at Anevia, "is Anevia. I don't know what she is."
Anevia started pacing, her arms locked behind her. "I am an Ophidian. I have come to, how would you say it in English? Save? Yes, save your planet."
