"I swear, I don't know anything about it. I didn't even know the sugar was gone until you came to my house,' Grandma Nut said.
"How could you not know?" King Kandy asked. "The whole Land is in upheaval!"
"I didn't need to use any sugar today. I finished making all my brittle yesterday."
Kind Kandy looked towards me and shrugged his shoulders. I shrugged back and nodded towards the door.
"We'll give you a moment to think," he said and headed out the door with me.
"I don't think she knows anything," he said when we were outside.
"Maybe not," I gave in.
"I'll go in and apologize," Kind Kandy sighed. "You can go."
I nodded and left the palace. If it wasn't Grandma Nut, who did steal the sugar?
