The Creeps and Spooks of Protagonize

A Writing prompt game just in time for Halloween.
400 characters or more.
Ready?

Hello and welcome to this little exercise that I like to call, 'The Creeps and Spooks of Protagonize'! Anyone can join, so come on down and write with us!

This is a sort of writing prompt game, and I will be posting a new chapter every Sunday to tell you what the prompt is for that week. Throughout the week, you can post as many chapters as you like with your character/characters. Just make sure to post to the CORRECT WEEK'S PROMPT. In other words, don't post a chapter that goes along with one of last month's prompts.

Anyways, here is the reason it is call The Creeps and Spooks(and no, not the Spookofnights of Protagonize!) Every week I will post the prompt that goes something like this...

"One night, your character is walking down a dark hallway and they see a door at the end. The door has light coming from behind it. Your character decides to go check it out."

That 'door' will not always be a door. It may be a dresser, a closet, or maybe even a book. I've got some tricks up my sleeve.

Here are the steps to this game-

1. Decide on a character that you will be keeping throughout the game. You will be posting chapters with this character throughout the game, so make sure you like him/her. When thinking up your character, your person(doesn't have to be a human!) can range anywhere from a regular human being to a beetle to a big angry wolf.

*You are welcome to make more than one and post with them(make a separate chapter for every character), but please, DO NOT ABANDON your characters. Only make as many characters as you can handle responsibly.

2.  After you have your character, check the previous chapters for the prompt. The prompt will always be in caps like this: WEEK OF 10/17.

3. Write a chapter that is 400+ characters long that is based on the correct prompt.

4. After you've posted a chapter, you have to go invite someone new to the exercise.
