Yawn, Stretch, Panic.

Shade woke up from its doze a few moments later. Stretching its long, furry form and yawning, little pink tongue poking out over its tiny teeth, it scrambled up the back of the sofa and sniffed about.

The reek of the invisible thing hit it like a truck.

Squeaking in alarm, Shade whizzed up the stairs like a streak of stripy black and white lightning.

Stupid! Stupid stupid stupid! Why did you not wake up you damn-blasted idiot! You could have smelt that thing from a mile away, how foolish you are to fall asleep!

Remind me to brain myself with a pointy stick later.

Shade soon caught sight of Ami, Selena and Jeremy and, with another squeak of relief, raced up Jeremy's arm and rubbed itself hard against his shoulder.

"Phew, there you are! Look, we have to move now! The invisible thingy is back, and I don't know where it is, but if it intends to hurt us again we need to find it and get rid of it!"

Jeremy sighed and slowly explained to the hysterical shape-shifter what had just happened.

Shade then gave a high-pitched chittering yelp and fell of his shoulder in alarm.

"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MINDS??? THAT THING'S A MONSTER, IT WOULD HAVE US ALL CRAMMED UP IN CAGES LIKE ANIMALS AS SOON AS LOOK AT US! WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU THINKING?!?!?!"

The End
