Waking UpMature

Amelia blinked and sat up, momentarily confused as to where she was. Then it all came back to her in a flood of memories.

She shook her head to clear it, more focused on figuring out where she actually was. It was a dark room, the only light a candle on the far wall. She could see a slight shadow silhouetted, hunched over the desk.

She cleared her throat. The form at the desk barely moved. So she took a risk.

Quietly pulling the blanket off of her and tiptoed to the desk. She stood there for a few moments, waiting for the person to notice her.

They looked to engrossed in whatever it was they were studying. Amelia turned her eyes to the giant stone on the desk. It looked like an ancient runs of some sort, though she had know idea what it said.

"I think I've got it!" the person cried, startling Amelia.

He jumped out of his chair, right into Amelia. They both tumbled to the ground, getting tangled in each other. The male, which Amelia quickly picked up on, blushed and pushed himself up off the ground. Once he was up, he reached out a hand to help her.

"I'm so very sorry about that, Madame. Please forgive me." he said with a slight bow.

"There is nothing to forgive. You obviously had no idea that I had awakened." Amelia replied, with a slightly bitter tone.

The male obviously hadn't heard her tone.

"Oh, now that your up and about, we should probably get you to Castien." he said, nudging her towards the door.

He opened the door for her and fiddled with his umbrella for a minuet. Once it was open he handed it to her and grabbed another for himself.

As they headed towards the main building, he spoke again.

"I'm sorry, where are my manners? I'm Lumen." he said, holding his hand out for a shake.

"I'm… Amy." Amelia replied, taking his hand in hers and giving it a shake.

They continued on in silence until the doors to the main building opened in front of them.
