After my night with Kay I really wanted to sleep in this morning, but as usual I forced myself out for my run. I returned feeling envigorated, and decided to go in to work with a positive attitude. Kay was still asleep when I got back, so I pulled the covers over her and let her be. After my shower I ate and then left a note on the table.
Kay, Help yourself to breakfast sleeping beauty, and don't forget to lock the door when you leave. C xxx
p.s...wipe the dribble off your face. ;)
I smiled and left. The sun was shining, and I considered how well it reflected my mood. Then I realised, as my foot hit something and I started to fall, that looking where you were going was a good idea. I tumbled to the floor and heard a muffled thump behind me. I swivelled on the floor to see a man upside down in a bush, his bike lying beside him.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" I helped him out of the bush and picked up his bike. "Are you ok?"
"I think I'll live." He grinned at me, showing no harm was done. Now I knew he was alright I could bask in the light of his glowing teeth, and the godly blonde hair that adorned his head. "Are you ok?" I shook myself mentally in order to answer his question.
"Yeah I'm fine, guess I wasn't looking where I was going."
"Me too. I'm David by the way."
"Chrissie." We shook hands and then smiled awkwardly. "Well," I said, breaking the silence, "I have to go to work, but I might see you round?"
"Sure." I smiled again and passed him by, not daring to look back to see if he was looking at me. I broke in to a run when I was out of sight, and arrived at the gym still in plenty of time. The door was open.
