'Look guys I'll see you later.'  I picked up my lunch tray and carefully avoided being hit or knocked over before I escaped.  I headed straight for the music rooms, my favourite place to be.

My guitar was there, out of tune as usual, and after a brief tuning session I began to play.

I don't know you,

but I want you all the more for that.

Words fall through me,

 and always fool me

and I can't react.

And games that never amount

to more than they're meant

will play themselves out.

Take this sinking boat and point it home,

we've still got time.

Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice,

you'll make it now.

I lost myself in the music only concentrating of the feel of the guitar strings under my fingers and the sound of my voice.  The last chord resounded in the empty classroom and I let out a sigh.

I heard clapping from the doorway and immediately turned round defensively.

'That was amazing.'
