Nox

Once the cotton candy was finished and out of the way, I dragged Jhoa on pretty much every single kid’s ride at the fair. I’d never really been to places like this as a kid, so I guess I was trying to fill in the parts I missed. And the teacups and all the other rides like that are usually staple parts of any childhood memory.

“My turn now” Jhoa said, pointing at one of the rides that had obviously been built for adults or teenagers at the very least.

“Kid’s rides are way more fun, though”

Jhoa raised an eyebrow. “Scared?” he teased and I shook my head.

I’d been through worse than a couple rollercoasters. Jhoa tugged me over to them like he was a little kid, bouncing on his feet slightly as we waited in line. I couldn’t help but laugh and he stuck his tongue out, dashing over to the best seats on the thing. I kissed him quickly once we were strapped in and he moved to kiss me back but the ride started up. I paid more attention to Jhoa than the ride. Jhoa whooped and cheered through the entire ride and I could tell he was buzzing with adrenaline when we got off.

"What next?" he asked, his eyes lighting up. "The waltzer?"

"It's up to you" I smiled.

Jhoa dragged me over to it, and ended up squished against me once we got on. I kissed his cheek, kissing back as he kissed me. The ride started up, pressing our bodies against each other. Remind me to thank centrifugal force at some point.

"What do you say to us getting out of here after this ride?" I asked and he blushed.

"Sure" he said, dazed. "We only have one token left anyway"

Eventually the ride came to an end, and I laughed as Jhoa dizzily made his way off it. He stuck his tongue out at me and I smirked, picking him up bridal style. Jhoa let out a yelp and a few people turned to see what the commotion was.

"Nox" he hissed blushing.

"Yes?" I asked innocently, carrying him out of the fair.

"People are staring"

"So?"

Jhoa was silent then, and I carried him home, waiting for an answer I obviously wasn’t going to get.

"You okay?" I asked and Jhoa nodded, leaning up to kiss me once I’d gotten the front door closed.

I kissed back, leading Jhoa into the bedroom without breaking the kiss as he parted my lips with his tongue. Jhoa let out a moan as I pushed him down on the bed, getting each other naked. Jhoa bit my shoulder lightly as I rolled on a condom.

At some point, the words “I love you” tumbled past my lips, and since I was in the middle of *$*&ing him senseless, the words didn’t really register in my head. So it came as a bit of surprise when Jhoa tensed up, staring at me.

"What?" he whispered.

"What what?"

"You.... doesn’t matter" he muttered, little Jhoa starting to fall asleep. Well that’s not exactly a good sign.

"Are you okay?" I asked, frowning.

He nodded. "Sorry"

"It's okay"

Jhoa was silent again and I pulled out, getting rid of the condom and lying down with him. Jhoa, however, rolled onto his side, facing away from me. I frowned.

“Did I do something wrong?” I asked.

“No” he whispered. “Don’t you... Don’t you know what you said?”

I shrugged, still not realising at the time what I’d said. Jhoa curled up even more and I sighed. Well, aren’t things going fantastically.
