Jeff, the bartender, walked grumily back to his bar. He guessed this was one customer who would be avoiding him for a while. It wasn't the first though, Jeff thought grumpily. Why do you think he was so grumpy? Many customers had tried to do a runner-though a few had been caught and *ahem* reprimanded-and Jeff had lost a lot of money from his old business.
Walking back behind the bar, Jeff saw Cathy sitting at her normal table. Her auburn hair tumbled down her back like a frothy waterfall and her caberat outfit was tight around her figure. She stared glumly into the brandy glass she was holding, but when she looked up and saw Jeff, she smiled openly, albeit tinted with sadness.
Jeff wondered what had happened to her this time.
