Protected

After being brutally punched and hit and now lying in the mud crying, a nearby man watching came over. He was older than me, handsome, and he asked if I was alright.

Of course I thought he was a guard, he was tall and looked rich, unlike me. I let him pick me up and hold me tightly, taking me somewhere.

"Are you sure this is alright? I barely know you, and I'm getting you all muddy." I complained awkwardly, he chuckled.

"It's no trouble, honestly." he flashed me a smile. He was so polite, for a rich man.

We got into the castle, and he placed me on the bed where I slept for a little while until I had to go with him and some other people to the hall. I hid behind him, shaking in fear. They couldn't take me, I didn't want to be a slave.

"Don't you dare touch her!" I heard him say protectively. The guards flinched back, worried. He'd set off a bomb of some sort a few moments ago, I'm sure they were even frightened by now. I was.

His arms were wrapped tightly around me, and for a few moments I actually felt protected, until we were let out, and he gently moved away to swiftly walk by my side.

"Hey, we never asked for your name?" a girl beside me asked. I looked up at her and smiled at her.

"Aurora...what about you?" I hated my name, I was even embarrassed to say it.

"Z Z," she grinned,"that old chap there is Justin." she nodded to the man next to me who'd protected me. I smiled at him.

Well, at least their names were slightly strange too, "So, tell me, where are we going?"

The End
