So she knew her dad was having her babysat. Smart girl. Unfortunately she wasn't smart enough to realise that he was having her watched by two of us. He was wise picking me, I could just be here to look after Beth for all she knows.
A peal of laughter reached my ears and I looked up at Beth and Jagan. Well she really sounds like she needs looking after. I decided to try and make peace, to a certain extent.
Standing up I walked to the empty seat beside her and flopped down into it with a sigh.
She turned and looked at me with a surprised look on her face. "Hey, I thought you were still mad....." she trailed off and I sat up straight and looked at her. "I am still mad Beth. A lot of what you said when I was in hospital hurt me really badly." She looked at her hands awkwardly. "Look Scarecrow, I didn't mean half of it, I was just angry, I don't even remember what I said.."
"Well I remember." I cut in as she tried to make excuses. "I believe there was something like along the lines of 'don't bother trying to talk to me anymore, you're going to end up very rich form this, but very alone' and that's about when you left." I said bitterly. She turned away but I grabbed her shoulders and shook her a bit "Mom and Dad wont really talk to me anymore, do you know what you did? Marissa even left, she.."
"Is there a problem?" Jagan interrupted glaring at me. Haha if only he knew. I released my hold on Beth's shoulders and turned away. "You know what? Just forget it." I stood up and she caught my sleeve."Wait Scarecrow, Steve, I didn't mean to push you away, I just.."
"Oh you made it pretty clear you didn't want me in your life anymore Bethany." I said coldly. Being emotionless helped when you had practice. As I turned to go back to my seat beside Foster I bumped into Danielle who'd been standing beside us the whole time and had obviously overheard everything. "Hey, are you..." she began but I cut her off. "Watch where you're going Princess." I snapped angrily.
