"Hi, I'm Jemma..." My friends words came out of nowhere. I knew she was downstairs, and that meant...
"Oh my god," I breathed. Jemma was a vampire. Suddenly all of this didn't seem like such a good idea any more.
"Scuse me," I said, pushing past Aria. She looked more than a little confused.
"Jemma!" I yelled, running down the stairs as fast as I could (which compared to everyone else was not very fast at all.)
"Amanda?" I stared at her. She didn't look like Jemma, my friend of god knows how many years. Jemma, who'd fought vampire after bloody vampire with me. And now it seemed that was all for nothing...
"I'm not going through with this," I blurted out. As soon as the words left my mouth I knew they were definitely true.
Second thoughts, cold feet, guilty conscience, whatever. I had doubts and I was sure now that I wasn't going to become a vampire any time soon, whatever I'd thought before.
