Jade: Home

I was back. Back with Brandon, where I really belonged. Yes, I have enjoyed talking with Ashton on the flight back, but now I was home. Because home was where Brandon and I were together.

"I love you" We both said that the same time. We laughed.

"I thought you could die, Jade! Never ever do that again!"

"Sorry. Now I wonder what's in store. Ian is dead. So is Renon. But there's someone else out there."

"We'll be together that time."

"Yeah. And meat Ashton. Actually, don't. You'll get into a bigger fight than you did with Adam."

"C'mon, I can handle it!" I shook my head.

"Hello, most undoughtedley pleased to meet you." Ashton said. "You may call me Ashton."

"Hi." Brandon said, and his eyes narrowed. I grabbed his arm, and pulled him inside. Most of the others were coming inside too, I saw. Rephy came towards me. I ran and hugged her.

"Rephy!" Then I realized that all the people that had stayed at the Unit were converging on us. "Aurili! Zazi! Adam! Tami! Kayden! Aysh! Spenser! Orphain! Feleck! Morph! Ryan!"

I felt glad to see everyone again, even though I had been only gone... how long? I checked my internal clock. Three hours in the White House, forty seven minutes, twenty nine seconds. Plus the time it took on the plane.

While everyone was laughing and asking me about what I had done, I made everyone be quiet. I told them of what we had done, including the fact that I didn't really kill Ian. He disappeared.

Slowly the crowd began to disperse, going to their bedrooms or the kitchen or the living room. "Who is Ashton?" Brandon asked me.

"He worked for Ian. He's... a physicist or something along those lines. Don't get too near him, though. He will know everything about someone by touch."

"Fine with me. But for one thing, I think Ashton is really cool. He's the one I can talk to about virtual particles and branes. So please, tolerate him."

"For you, Jade." He pulled me to the living room. We snuggled on the couch to watch a movie. "What do you want to watch?" he asked. "Horror, romance, si-fi?"

I laughed. "That pretty much sums up our life, doesn't it?" He laughed too, smiling a radiant smile.

"Here, I'll choose." he said. I closed my eyes, waiting for him to put the movie in. "There." he said, sitting beside me. I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I love you," I reminded him.

The End
