I stand in the background, trying to see over everybodies heads. There is no point.
Why is she always the center of attention? She gets a boy, and everything else?
I sigh; trying to keep my emotions blank. Didn't need another one of those. I remember back to yesterday. All of a sudden, I hear loud gasping - by the sounds of it trying to catch breath. I round the corner and run into Kayden's room. She is laying on a white bed. I run to her side. Pain smacks into me, nearly stopping my breathing. Ouch. This must be really hurting her. I zone it out, and she needs this as strong as it gets; I realise this has been happening a lot lately.
"Numb." The pain still fills her, as I could feel it. I squeeze my eyes tight. "Numb!" I shout, an octave higher. I feel the pain beginning to ease. I hold my cold hand to her forehead, quietly shushing her.
"Violet?" Her smooth eyelids flutter open; her long, black lashes fringing her stunning eyes.
"Shh. It's okay. I'm here."
"But, I'm so.. So.. So weak!" She stutters.
"Strong."Colour fills her skin again, a smile lifting the corners of her mouth upwards.
"Thank you!" She jumps out of the bed, hugging me. I hug her back. Finally; I have done something useful.
