So I was standing there, ready to be blown to pieces by that crazy psychopath, who was apparently Ian. I closed my eyes and waited for the impact. Nothing happened. I opened them again to see that we were all surrounded by a giant shield. Woah. Who had the awesomme shielding power that I didn't know about?! I tured around to see Aysh leaning against the wall, slightly out of breath. then it clicked. "Wow. Did you summon that?" I asked. She nodded. "Thanks." Thats all I could say.
So, we were safe for the moment. But would should we do next? We needed to know why this guy was here, and what his intentions were. I wondered, would my powers work through the barrier? It was worth a try. "Watch my body." I said. Aysh looked at me puzzled. Not many people knew the depths of my abilities yet. "I'll be right back" I told her. Then I concentrated. Hard.
I zoned out and tried to enter his mind, but I felt some resistance. I wasn't sure if that was because of the barrier, or whether he was just too powerful. I tried again. I wanted to help. I wanted to be useful. I put all my energy in to trying to even hear his thoughts. All I heard was white noise. I strained, and could feel myself becoming weak.
She will always be mine
I heard him think. I smiled, I was getting somewhere. But gee, what a psycho. I tried to hear more. But the resistance seemed to be getting stronger. I felt myself being pulled back. I gave up and returned to my body, tired and out of breath. Everybody nearby was preoccupied with the fight going on downstairs. Meita and Ian were screaming at each other. "He says," I said, heavily out of breath. "That she will always be his." I looked at Aysh. I couldn't read the expression on her face. I sat down on the floor, trying to catch my breath.I felt as though I was slowly getting weaker. The last thing I remember was knowing that Ian had left, and that Meita was badly injured. Then, everything went black.
