Magic reversal.

A dagger hits my chest and I screech, the pain burning me up. Another hit me where a heart would be if my glamour still hid me. Another scream escapes me but it doesn’t last long. Burning silver wraps itself around my body and binds me, draining all my strength. My wings are crushed and broken and my form shrinks into the smallest ball I can make to save energy. Not that I’ve got much left. I don’t know how long I can survive with this silver around me. It’s magical and the magic uses the silver to store my stolen energy. If I can break the spell on it, I can get my energy back, but I feel like I'm dying. I curse the vampire and the leopard that aided him. I curse myself, knowing Konrad’s words were true, regardless of how much I hated him for it.

I roll my ball shaped self into a bush and sit there, covered in power draining silver, trying to work out how to get rid of it. Or even reverse the effect it has. That would be even better. I change my mind about sitting in the bush, and roll into the waiting area where Roxy is sleeping. I bounce myself onto the chair and hide in her hand, shrinking even more until I look like a small bead. Here, I can use her suffering and work out how to reverse the effects of the silver at the same time, without dying. See, Konrad, I'm not as stupid as you think I am.

The End
