I watched Nyx's fury, helpless, a sick feeling in my stomach. I saw her eyes burning with her pain, the storm only emphasising that to me. Where everyone else would see an angry, infinitely powerful and vengeful Queen; I saw a beautiful, broken goddess, in pain.

I tried to interceed, knowing she would hate herself for this later, but she shook her head, keeping me away.

Finally, she sank to her knees, tears streaming down her face silently. The storm gradually began to fade away.

I put my hands on her shoulders as an attempt to comfort her.

"You did what you had to." I murmured.

There was a long silence as Nyx seemed unable to reply.

"Come on, lets get him into bed so he can heal." I said eventually, without much enthusiasm.

Nyx nodded and I picked him up, albeit not that carefully, and dumped him where Nyx directed me to.

"Are you going to be okay?" I spoke in a soft, serious voice, meeting her eyes fully. I felt her shoulders slump in defeat. Eventually she nodded, averting her gaze.

"Promise me." I emphasised each word in that same low voice.

"Okay." It was barely a whisper but it was there.

I pulled her tight against my chest. "I'm always going to be here when you need me okay?"

I felt her nod against my chest, the tears on her cheeks soaking through my thin shirt. I was still wearing the same clothes as I had to the ball.

"I just need some time alone, okay?" She spoke softly, her voice on the verge of breaking. I had never seen her so fragile. I sighed but nodded, letting her go.

"You know where I am okay?" I was loathe to leave her when she was like this but she had asked..

"Please, just go Thantos." She turned away, upset.

I created a Portal and left without another word. Back in my house, I knew instantly something was worng.
