"I thought I could help with that." I melted a little inside. Always a fan of the Italian accent. Always. Turning slightly so I was still leaning on the bar I glanced at him, pretending to not be too interested. What is it about blue eyes?
"How exactly were you planning on doing that?" I asked, smiling pleasantly. He was dark, tanned, with black hair and a smile that played around the corners of his lips and eyes. Melting...
"Well, that's entirely up to you." He grinned, sitting on the stool next to me. "Carlos." He gestured to himself. "And who are you?"
"Blake. And this is Rachel."
"Good to meet you both." He murmured, smiling at me. "So bella, how do you feel about dancing?"
"Depends who I'm dancing with." I countered, taking a sip from my glass and throwing Rachel a look as I did. It said 'Can I? PLEASE?'
She rolled her eyes and sipped her drink again, leaving me without an answer.
"And what would you say if I asked you to dance?" Carlos dragged my attention back to him, that same smile playing at his lips.
"I'd probably say, let me finish my drink first." I teased, and took another sip. He grinned, staring at me with his deep blue eyes... oh help me. ITALIAN MEN.
"Perfetto." He replied. "So Blake, when did you and Rachel arrive? I have not seen you here before."
"Today. We're on holiday."
"For how long?"
"As long as we want." I smiled, unwilling to give a firm answer.
"Well, I hope you will allow me to show you around."
"We'll see." I grinned.
Another man approached us, his eyes on Carlos. He nodded to me briefly before addressing him.
"Carlos, your brother is here."
"Ah, Daniel. I had forgotten. Blake, Rachel, excuse me. I'm afraid our dance will have to wait for another night, if you will forgive me."
I could only smile and nod as he took my hand and kissed it lightly, before following the other man out of the room. I let out a breath and turned to Rachel, grabbing her arm.
"Rachel, oh my god...."
"Blake, seriously, calm down. You're about to combust on the spot."
"Sorry, I just... Carlos... italian... eyes... ahmagerd...." I giggled.
"Jeez," she chuckled. "Am I going to have to throw cold water over you or something?"
"Please... I am slightly in control. But did you hear? He has a brother...."
"... Blake, I know we came here for fun and everything, but I'm not getting with a guy on the first night. Or any night, unless he actually cares about me."
"Rachel, you know what they say. The way to get over a guy-"
"-Is to get under another, I know. You've told me a million times. I just- I'm not like that."
"I know. And neither am I. But a little flirting couldn't hurt..."
"Carlos had way more than flirting on his mind." She chuckled.
"Mmm, well Carlos can just keep his hands clear until we've got you sorted out." I grinned. Then movement caught my eye. "Ooh, there he is. And that must be his brother. Rachel, he's gorgeous..."
Rachel peeked through her eyelashes over at Carlos and his brother. Carlos seemed to be trying to convince Daniel about something, and then they both looked over. I looked at Rachel and bit my lip.
"Reckon they knew we were looking?"
"Well they're coming over..." She muttered.
