I was sitting in my dark, empty flat wondering what had happenned to me. Adeline had told me about her people, the Guardians, who didn't feed on humans and persecuted those who did. It was the way I lived, except that I didn't feed on humans because I was too scared, not because I was a moral saviour. I didn't know what I was meant to do with this information. Did this mean I was one of them?
I needed some air. I grabbed my coat from a chair and slammed the door behind me. The coat was just for appeareances, I didn't need it. My blonde hair was swept back from my face as the icy wind hit me when I stepped into the street. I marched along endless streets trying to make sense of it all. It must have been the early hours of the morning but I didn't care. I didn't need to sleep and my job as a waitress didn't start til eleven. I had plenty of time to spare.
I wandered around for hours. I didn't stop walking util I saw a sign for a circus. The Bloodthirsty Circus. There was an arrow pointing into a field where a massive tent was pitched. I walked in. There were very few people around but those I did see scared me. They were all Vampires.
