The Vampire had been reduced to a pile of dust and the girl was now in the arms of one of the female Vampires. I'm not needed here. They will manage fine without me and I can't start drawing attention to myself. I walked back the way I had come, my head spinning from what I had just seen. I hadn't seen these two before and desperately wanted to speak to them. I didn't want to be alone anymore. I was so focused on my own thoughts that I crashed into a total stranger.
'Sorry' I mumbled and stumbled on down the road. I got to the junction at the end of the road and looked back. I couldn't walk away from this chance to be among people like me. I ran as fast as I could towards the alley praying they hadn't disappeared already. I turned the corner and they were still there.
'Is she alright? Is there anything I can do to help?' The two women looked at me with confused looks on their faces.
'I think we'll be OK. I've called for help.' The one with dark hair obviously didn't want me there.
'But I saw him, the Vampire. You don't have to hide from me. I know what you are. I'm one too.'
