Why? Why did I have to go ruin the day...
I'd just come over to his home and here I was, already letting the drama begin. I felt horribly guilty and I wanted to make it up to him. That's why when he knocked on the room door, I fixed a smile onto my face and opened the door.
He looked worried, and slightly surprised to see that I didn't have any tears near my eyes anymore. But he smiled nonetheless, taking hold of my hand as he led me towards the dining area. His mother was waiting for us, having set the table and she patted the seat next to her.
I sat down to her right while Ash sat on the opposite side of the table, watching me and still looking concerned.
But his mother didn't seem to notice, instead saying happily, "It's been a long time since I cooked more food than usual. So how did you two meet?"
"In Spain," Ash replied.
I smiled, speaking up. "We were staying at the same hotel and Ash met me near the pool. He started the flirting first," I teased.
"I'm not surprised."
I giggled and the rest of the meal passed by with us telling his mother our story. We left out all the dramatic parts, just saying the good stuff. His mom was real nice though. I liked her a lot and spending the afternoon with them helped me cheer up.
Yet in the back of my mind, I knew I owed Ash an apology.
