A huge meteor has fallen into Earth.

Buildings have fell into ruins. Cities have been either flooded, burned or crushed. Nearly all of the population has died out, and everything is destroyed. Hospitals. Churches. Schools.

Earth has become silent.

Though slowly people begin to emerge, here and there. They have changed, as the meteor that fell sent a wave of radiation around the earth giving some survivors a strange power.

Description:Long hair, that has been dyed blonde. Hazel eyes, lots of freckles. Middle height, wearing a plain blue shirt, and jeans.
Power: Can read people's minds.
Background: Wants to find her daughter, as she was on the other side of the country, when the meteor fell. Doesn't know if she survived or died.

Background: Does not know about the meteor strike. Was not concerned with the local news or otherwise. His family kept to themselves rather than socialize with people around them. Him and his wife worked from home selling home made items.

Power: Can influence the movement and path of the burning flame. Can't light it, but can control it once it is made.
Background: Classified as a genious at the age of 7, she ran away from everything at the age of 10. Her real name is Penny. She changed it when she left. Hasn't seen her family since she left. Made money by doing anything she could.

Description: Long dark brown hair that looks light brown in the sun light and has faded blue eyes with a hint of green in them. She's really light because her bones are hollow which makes flying easier.
Power: Can fly because of her bone structure and the way her bones are arranged. She can also control the air currents; the wind.
Background: She was sent to an adoption center when she was 8 months and then adopted by a family at 5. She didn't like the family because they abused her and so she ran away. She didn't know where she was until an old lady took her in. The old woman died when she was 14 and she's been working at a restaurant that give her good pay because of her situation and a school has offered to pay for her because the old lady once made a large contribution there.

Description: Tall, lanky, tense. Messy brown hair that never sits straight. Blue eyes with a minuscule grey ring around the pupils. Small mouth with down-turned edges that give the impression of severity. Pronounced Adam's apple with a slightly bent neck.
Power: No recognisable power. Since the meteor however, Alexander feels he has moved faster and reacted more quickly to outside stimuli.
Background: Alexander was recently interred at a mental institute for schizophrenia. In actuality, his step-mother spiked his food with LSD on a regular basis, causing him to hallucinate and freak out. When the meteor hit, Alexander was in the garden. The resulting shock waves destroyed most of the facility, and allowed him to escape.

Description: 6'1, straight ash hair comes down past his eyes (he keeps it swept to the side though) blue-gray eyes that are constantly changing slightly in color. Likes wine (but can't stand getting drunk), not judgemental at all.
Power: transmutation, but when he uses his power it takes his energy, so there is a limit on what he can make and how much of it
Background: Son of a Protestant pastor, a strong Christian. His mother died when he was 5, and his father died when he was 15. After his father died he was taken care of by the people in his father's church.
