This is Home. (Dakota)

A young police officer walked down my alley way saying

"Hey, what are you doing?" He was talking to Anali, Yolanda and Jaymie.

"You might want to-" It was too late. My security system was on. It shocked him.

"Erck!" It would get more and more powerful. Yikes. I need to learn how to change it. I ran and pulled him away from that.

"That's why you don't go walking down random alleys." I turned to the wall and pulled out a brick, exposing a hidden keyboard. I pulled it out and typed in a password. The security system was turn off.

"What was that?" The policeman turned to me.

" security system?" I gave him a look saying 'Duh, what else would it be?'.

"I'm going to have to ask you to leave this alley."

"But this is the only place we've felt welcome for a long time!" Anali stood and gave him a pleading look.

"Why? Don't you have homes?" He looked around at all of us.

"This is my home." I walked back to the sidewalk where I had left the pads I had gathered. "I got pads everybody!!" Flopping them next to my mattress, I stacked them in twos so there was exactly three more. The exact amount of people living here.

"Woo hoo!" Jaymie threw her stuff on a stack and then flopped on it herself.

"Yay!" Yolanda jumped on hers. I walked to my laundry pile and sorted out all my sheets. The officer just stood there, bewildered.
