After school, I started walking home when I realised Zoey was still wearing my jacket. Ah well, I'd get it back tomorrow. The wind picked up as I turned down my street and it started to rain heavily. I started to run, and was soon laying on the bed, exhausted. I couple of minutes later, my cell rang. I looked at the caller ID automatically:
I frowned as Lou didn't usually ring me at this time.
"Hey, babes, you okay?" I answered.
"I don't know. Why don't you ask Zoey?"
"Huh? What are you on about?"
"Don't play dumb with me, Ray, I saw your jacket on her."
"Lou... Look, I was honestly just being friendly. She was cold, so I gave her my jacket so she wouldn't catch a cold. There's nothing between us."
"Oh yeah, you confirming that there's nothing between you is going to make me feel much better isn't it? How can you just do that: lie, lie lie. All the time. To your girlfriend?!" Crap.
"I didn't lie, and deep down you know it. I would never lie to you, for the simple reason that I love you. Your right, you are my girlfriend, and I was just being a friend to her. You know I love you, so forgive me." I paused, and could practically hear Lou going over my words. She hesitated as I went on, "We all make mistakes, and I didn't know that this would hurt you so much. If I did, I never would have known. This was just another mistake I made, so forgive, and it won't happen again."
"Fine, I forgive you. But if any more flirting goes on, there'll be no more chances." She gave in.
"I know, I love you Lou."
"Love you too." We said our goodbyes and hung up. Well, now I knew what to do and what not to to. Tomorrow could be interesting.
