I had to grind my teeth to stop myself from snapping the man's head off, he was so... so... just irritating.
"Are you sure you don't want a coffee love?" He said in his sickly sweet voice with the obvious fake smile on. His eyes wandering over my body, I shuddered at the thought of that. I just smiled and fluttered my eyelashes,
"No thank you, I just really need a house for me and my friends to stay in." He raised his eyebrow and began to click on the mouse before looking back at me, Ugh can't you even pretend to be looking at me in the eye! Talk about disturbing, I had to cover a smile as I thought about the shock he would get when he saw I had William.
"I don't think we have anything in your budget." He said this time looking at me in the eye, I clenched my hand under the desk. Come on Lucinda you can do this. I mean you beat the dark ones, what's a stupid estate agent compared to that! I un-clenched my hand and bit back the statement that hovered on the tip of my tongue.
"I'm sure we can afford something, my brother has some money he's going to lend towards his half of the rent." The guy made a 'Hmm' noise, as if to say Oh so you mean you're leeching off him.
I could feel the start of a migraine,
"Well there's this house, three rooms, a medium sized kitchen, a large lounge. Small dinning room and a medium sized garden. There's two bathrooms, it's on the other side of town and-"
"I'll take it!" Anything to get me out of here! I'd trek halfway across the world to get away from this man!
He blinked in surprise and stuttered,
"Er... Right... Ok... Here you'll need to fill this out." He passed a form over and a few minuets later I was the proud owner of a new house, or at least renting it for a while.
I muttered thanks and tried to make a quick escape but the man stopped me,
"So... Are you doing anything later?" With my back turned I rolled my eyes,
"Yeah, we're going to move in straight away. Well, bye!" With that I left quickly, muttering dark words under my breath.
I walked in to the apartment to see both Tommy and William sitting in the living room.
"Ugh, that man has turned my brain to a pulp!" I said, rubbing my head. I brushed off the snow from my coat and hung it up. William got up and walked over to where I was, he wrapped his arms around my waist and said, "You want me to get you some aspirin?" He asked as he kissed my cheek, I looked at him gratefully and nodded.
"Ok, good news is: I got us a house; bad news is: it's halfway across town." William let go of me and moved into the kitchen, I went into the living room and sat across from Tommy.
"So how'd the whole thing go?" I rolled my eyes,
"Don't even get me started on it. Do you remember John? That kid who used to live down the road from us?"
Tommy looked surprised,
"What the one who had that weird crush on you?" I nodded glaring at the floor, Tommy burst out laughing,
"I'm surprised you didn't rip his head off."
"Oh trust me, I thought about it." I muttered darkly. William came into the room at that point with a mug of warm cappuccino, he was my savior. I was freezing,
"Cappuccino! My favorite!" I gave him a warm smile, and cuddled up next to him as he sat down. He was like my personal hot water bottle.
"So, Tommy, how did you escape the Black Ones?" Will asked, putting an arm around me, I snuggled closer to him, feeling the tablets take effect. Will seemed to be almost suspicious of Tommy, I was too tired to question him. The smell of coffee and the warm feeling was making me feel sleepy. I felt my eyes get droopy and I drifted. Later I felt someone pick me up and put me in my bed, they kissed my forehead and said,
