She was leaning over me, putting the necklace round my neck. It was slightly embarrassing, what with her chest being in my face, but I shifted my head away slightly and felt better. I felt her brushing my hair slightly as she fastened the clasp. Her fingers were smooth and cool against the back of my neck. I moved my thoughts on from this, fully aware of my girlfriend in the photo behind me.

And then, I don't know how it happened, she probably tripped or something, but she fell on top of me. I looked up at her for a moment as she looked through the waave of hair that had fallen over her face, before she started apologising and crawling back off me and away. She smelled of roses, and a slight peppermint aroma. I shook my head. Just be cool Will, it was an accident.

"Woah Alex, calm down, it was an accident."

"I'm just really sorry."

"Yeah I know. Look," I stood up and stretched my arms out, looking down at myself, "No bones broken." She grinned. I picked up the necklace from where it had fallen and clipped it round myself. "There. But I feel bad that I don't have anything for you."

"Oh, it's no problem, really."

"Well I'll just have to make you something, or get you something later. Thanks again, it's really cool." We stood awkwardly for a minute, then I coughed. "So, you want to go explore and meet some other people on our floor? We could check out the kitchen..."

"Yeah, I'd... that's a good idea." I grinned and grabbed my jacket.

"Right, let's go then."

We reached the kitchen at the end of our corridor, where we discovered three other people from our dorm. They were sat round a table chatting.

"Hey guys, I'm Will, this is Alex. We're from room 108."

"Hey Will, hey Alex. I'm Tina, this is Robbie and Jack."

"Hey." Alex and I sat down, and joined in the conversation.

The End
