After my class ended for this Friday, I hurried out the room once all the students had submitted their class exercises and made my way to the car. Roi had said she'd meet me in the parking lot once she was done with her period and so the next few minutes with me drumming my fingers on the steering wheel in impatience. Soon enough, I saw other students emerge from the building and I recognized them to be Roi's classmates. Humming to myself, I looked out in anticipation and after the crowd had dispersed and everyone else was long gone, I saw her make her way towards me a smile on her face. Her eyes flickered around; making sure no one saw her enter my very inconspicious car (not at all).
"Let's go," she said, her voice filled with excitement and I couldn't help but wonder why; she probably thought tonight would be the night even though I'd stated
I started the engine with a loud whir which I knew must have gotten some attention but quickly accelerated out the driveway and started towards my house.
"So how was your day?" I asked, glancing at her.
"Boring and this conversation's boring. Let's talk about you," she said, turning to face me.
"What do you want to know?"
"Past relationships." Aha, what any girl would ask her first boyfriend; so very typical.
"What about them?"
"How many have you been in?" She asked, her voice growing serious.
"Well, I had a few here and there you know. About hundreds of them," I teased her and she slapped my arm lightly. "Come on tell me!"
"Two," I stated simply and chuckled to myself when her jaw dropped.
"Yes, do you find that hard to believe?"
She tried to compose her face and muttered, "Well a little. I mean, a guy like you...couldn't possibly have only two in his whole life."
I shrugged, my eyes on the road when I responded, "Well, I'd never been very interested in dating and romance."
"In that case, are you a virgin?" Another very straightforward question and I looked at her for a second and as I'd thought, she had a very hype expression on her face as she waited for me to answer. My lips curved upwards as I nodded, hearing the shocked gasp escape her lips.
"Didn't expect that either huh?" I asked her and she leaned back against her seat, her eyes now looking out the window.
"So if we..."
"You'd be my first," I completed.
The silence was filled with unanswered questions hanging in the air, ones that Roi was meant to ask me but didn't. Just as she opened her mouth, I pulled up into the garage and turned off the engine, and got out the car.
"Now it's my turn," I said, opening her side and helping her out.
"Ever been in love Roi?"
