I opened my eyes and found myself back in Dreamland. Strange how no matter how many times I've been here, I still haven't grown used to the hang of things in this world. It was nighttime as usual, the moon the source of light as I made my way through the familiar streets. The atmosphere was rather eerie and there were not many around as I made my way towards the familiar pub. Somehow, the place looked abandoned, and I wasn't quite sure what to think of it.
Shaking my head to myself, I placed my hand on the cool metal handle and pushed forward. The door creaked open, the bells attached to the edge tinkling. My eyes flickered through each and every face; searching. Disappointment flooded in when I realized the one I was hoping to find wasn't here yet. Sitting down, I waited, knowing Scarlett would come.
The minutes ticked by and I felt the frustration enter me. What was taking her so long? The waitress, Candy, approached my table and grinned. "I see Scarlett hasn't come yet."
"What's your problem?" I asked her in a harsh voice, frowning.
She glared at me, anger spreading across her face. "Don't take that tone with me Fletcher."
"And if I do, what will you do?" I snapped at her, with a smirk on my face. "Now go back to doing your job Candy, and fetch me a beer and one coke."
Flicking her strawberry blonde hair over her shoulder, she marched away from me. I never could figure out what Candy's problem had been since I joined this world. She took a disliking towards Scarlett, ever since the day she first entered the pub and caught my eye. I'd have to put an end to that attitude of hers, especially if it were to trouble us anymore.
I frowned, noticing that thirty minutes had passed. Where was she?
