I watched as Ambrose walked out of the room, "What did I say?" I wondered aloud.
"Ghost Boy's... got issues," Kiora responded...weird how she seemed to understand him so well.
"Can we really trust him? You said yourself he doesn't tell us 'a Goddamn thing'," Zahra spoke up.
"I was stating facts. He doesn't tell us anything but... we can trust him. I do. He saved my life. Kiora paused and took a deep breath before continuing and I could sense a deep well of pain, "Some things are simply too hard to talk about. Trust me, I know."
That's why she could understand Ambrose so well...she's probably been through a lot of the same things as I am assuming Ambrose did. I started to wrap my arms around her, hoping to give at least some small measure of comfort, but she shrugged them off and walked out after Ambrose. I started to follow her then thought better of it...if she had wanted my comfort or presence then she would have accepted my embrace; she probably needed to be alone or something so I let her go.
I waited in the kitchen for a little bit though I wasn't sure for what; but it got too uncomfortable (to many people I don't really know and none that I really know all that well) so I went upstairs to my room and picked out a book to read. I read until well past midnight, the book was by Ted Dekker...in my opinion one of the best authors on earth and it was one of the few books by him that I haven't had a chance to read yet. But eventually I couldn't keep my eyes open much longer, so I put the book down and went to bed. I was asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow.
I've always been an early riser, so there wasn't many people (if any) awake when I got up. I went to the bathroom and splashed some water on my face, as I did my vision suddenly went black and I had a weird sensation of moving, fast. Then, suddenly, I was looking up from the inside of a toilet bowl into a dark bathroom, the light turned on and a girl came into view. I shut my eyes, not wanting to see what I new was about to happen. When I opened them again I was back in the bathroom of this old house. I grimaced, "That was really weird," I told the sink, then shook my head to clear it and went down to the basement to see what should be for breakfast.
I turned on a light down there and looked around; not only were there canned and jarred goods, there was also a very large amount of flour, sugar, baking soda, and other baking ingredients. I smiled...it would be several hours before anyone would probably be up, so I had time, and I wanted to cook...sticky buns it is...always did love sticky buns. I quickly gathered the ingredients then hauled them upstairs to begin the long process of making them.
About two and a half hours later the kitchen smelled like heaven and I couldn't wait for them to be done. "Wow! It really smells good in here!" a voice came from the doorway. I jerked my head around, then realized it was only Xaoc.
"Yeah, I should hope it does! Those sticky buns take forever to make...but they sure are worth it when they're done!" I replied with a smile.
Xaoc smiled and sat down next to me, "They going to be done any time soon?" he asked.
I smiled knowingly, "Yeah the first batch should be done in a couple minutes...you can have some then."
