Just the beginning!

I have the names and the plot. Now it's just about making the story long enough... I'm always bad at doing suspension...

-Chapter 1- Rainy Day

"It has been said that if you watch darkness for hours, for days, maybe even years, you will try to convince yourself that you can keep it at bay. It will get so bad you'll be afraid to look away, you'll be afraid to sleep,"

It has been three days since the rain has settled in to this small town named Adair Village. Nicole wondered what would happen when the rain stop? Would the sun finally come out? Weird things have been happening since the rain has came. She noticed that some of the neighbors have been acting different, and that there's always darkness lingering around. Nicole was seriously dreading her life, and pretty soon she would dread it even more.

Nicole's best friend, Marie had just left with her family to go out of town. There was a death in the family of Marie's. Nicole was all by herself. Sure, she had other friends but none like her best friend. Marie and her had been inseparatable since they were six. Now that they are at Albert Gallatin High School, their bond has never been tighter. They wouldn't be what you called "popular". Nicole and Marie looked like they should have been twins. Nicole has sunflower blond hair, and chocolate brown eyes. She was sort of on the pale side, but she did have freckles on her face. Marie had the same color hair but her body was kissed by the sun. Another difference was Marie had green eyes. Other than that, they could fit the same clothes and shoes.

Nicole sat there and wondered what Marie was doing at the funeral. She wondered when she was suppose to be back. While she was drifting away in her thoughts the telephone rang. "Geez! That phone scared me. I wonder who could be calling..." Nicole said.

"Hello, who is this", Nicole asked.

"Are you there?"

"Yes, I'm here. WHO IS THIS?" Nicole asked quickly. She really didn't like prank callers, and that's probably who this was.

"I hope you know that they're coming for you. It's just a matter of time. Especially, since you are home by yourself."

"WHO THE HELL IS THIS? WHO IS COMING FOR ME?" Nicole was starting to panick, but she tried to calm herself down. She just kept telling herself that it was a prank caller.

"Hello? Hello? HELLO?"...Dead dial tone.. Nicole hung up the phone. She was definatly freaked out. She wanted someone there with her, to comfort her. Her mother was a flight attendant and was gone for another week. Her father walked out on her family when she was two. She didn't know what to do especially since Marie wasn't home either. She thought about the options. She could sit home by herself with all the lights on, and hold a knife just incase. Or, she could call her few friends she had and invite them over. She could also invite Michael over. She had a huge crush on him. She decided on the second option. It would definatly make her feel better.

She picked up the house phone and called up Christina, Kendal, and Lacey. She had them all on speakerphone and said that she wanted them to all come over. She told them that they could also invite their boyfriends. She could pick them up and they could all watch a bunch of movies. She was going to order a pizza and pretty much have a sleep over. The three girls agreed.  Then she made just one more phone call. She couldn't believe she was actually going to call Michael. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes to match. He played baseball, but he had muscles. He was the most gorgeous guy Nicole ever layed eyes on. She dialed the number. Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Hello?" Michael asked.

"Hi, is this Michael?" Nicole asked.

"Yes, is this Nicole? Hey, I was going to call you and see if you wanted to hang out tonight." Michael quickly spoke.

"Actually, yes, that's why I'm calling. I'm having a couple friends over and their boyfriends are coming, so I wanted to see if you wanted to keep me company..." She crossed her fingers.

"Yeah, that sounds great. I can stay the night too. I'll pay for pizza or something if you want to get some. We need to definatly watch some horror movies though! I'm always up for those." He spoke. See the thing was, that he secretly had it bad for her. He was hoping they could get closer tonight.

"Absolutely, I'm going to pick up my friends now. I can give you directions, and meet you at my house in about twenty?" She questioned.

"Yeah, sounds great to me." He replied.

She gave him quick directions and then hung up. She had butterflies in her stomach, and couldn't believe she just did that! She quickly remembered she needed to get the girls which meant getting her keys. Nicole went searching through her house. It wasn't big but it wasn't exactly small. It was pretty much just what her and her mother Lorelai needed.

It was two floors. The downstairs included a living room with a beige couch, loveseat, reclining chair, oak wood coffee table, and a 52'' LCD  tv. The walls were painted to match the furniture. The living room led to a kitchen with ceramic table, a stainless steel fridge, sink, dishwasher, oak wood kitchen table, and ceramic floor. The kitchen also had a sliding door which led to the back patio. There was also a dining room which was pretty much used as a storage area. Upstairs there was her mom's room, which she was forbidden to go in. All there really was in the room was a king size bed with red satin sheets and pillows to match. There was a dresser with a huge mirror on it, a computer desk with a laptop on it, and a walk in closet. In her room, her sanctuary, there was a king size bed with a comforter of  Tinkerbell, with matching pillows. She had posters of all her favorite artists plastered all over the wall. She had a dresser with a huge mirror on it as well. All of her friends wrote her cute quotes and signed her mirror. She had a bedside telephone, one of the light up ones. She had a walk in closet as well, filled with clothes. She also had a bookshelf filled with little knick knacks and books. She loved to read.

She grabbed her keys off of her bookshelf where she usually set them. She also grabbed her cell phone. And then proceeded downstairs, while turning off the lights behind her. She put the phone call in the back of her mind, so that maybe she could settle her nerves. She walked outside, and then that's when she started to freak out. She saw it just sitting there in her driveway...

The End
