Jerome "The Bus" Bettis was born on February 16th, 1972. He was born as the youngest of three children in Detroit Michigan. He did not start playing football until he was in high school. Jerome was diagnosed with asthma at a young age. In high school he played running back and a linebacker. He won a couple of awards as a senior in high school: Top player in the state by the Detroit Free Press and the Gatorade Circle of Champions Player of the Year as well. Bettis decided to play College ball as well.
