I knew the minute I walked in to the club that this was going to be difficult. More difficult than I thought it would be. It didn't help that it seemed every hot girl in this city had decided to come to the club tonight.
I fought my way through the crowd, keeping my hands to myself and looking for the girls. When I finally spotted Missy waving at me, I was already unsure whether I could last the night.
"Hey girl, you came at the right time. This place is alive!"
"Yeah, a little too alive if you ask me."
"Well it probably doesn't help that the your outfit makes it really difficult to look away from you." I looked down. In accordance with my new look I'd chosen leather lace up trousers and a red lace up top, covered by a leather jacket. But it did pronounce my curves a lot, so I understood what Missy meant.
"Damn. Oh well, I guess I'll have to be the one who got away then."
"If you can get away." She grinned. "Come on, let's get a drink." I joined Iris, Cassy, Aimme and Missy at the table they had grabbed and ordered our first round of drinks. I refused to drink alcohol because I was worried what might happen to my self control if I did. Only minutes went by before a girl with red hair came up and asked me to dance. Missy told her to 'do one' which I thought was uncalled for but at least it got her off my back. After about the third girl though I got decidedly bored of saying no.
"Missy, next one, I'm gonna dance with, or else I'm not gonna have any fun at all." She shook her head but grinned.
"Hands off then."
For a while, no one came up, and I was starting to feel like I could relax when a hand tapped me on the shoulder.
"Can I have a dance?" I looked round. A girl with wavy blonde hair stood behind me, thin and model like, but with huge dark eyes and small encouraging smile on her big lips. She grinned as I looked her up and down. "Do I pass?" I smiled. Well at least she had spunk.
"Just a dance." I got up and made my way over to the dance floor, leading her behind me. I saw the red head from earlier giving her a dirty look. The blonde stood a little away from me but kept getting bumped nearer by an enthusiastic dancer behind her. Finally she gave in and stood right in front of me.
"So what's your name?" She shouted over the music.
"Hey! Nice to meet you!"
"So why did I pass?"
"Why did I pass out of everyone who asked you to dance?" Her arms wrapped around my neck as a slower song came on. I put my hands on her hips tentatively.
"I don't know."
"Well it's nice to be chosen anyway." She grinned and bit her lip. I was too far in, I could tell now. She was attracted to me, and by me choosing her it made it worse. Oops. Well done Rosa. But it wasn't that I minded. Because she was very beautiful, and the way she was moving her hips against mine was very provocative. But that was bad. So I had to get away.
"Excuse me." I said and slipped off through the crowd, finding the back door and running out. I leant against the wall and sighed. I didn't know how hard it was to commit to being single.
"Hey, why'd you run off like that?"
I looked around to see Carmen behind me. She looked upset, and cold.
"I'm sorry. It's just, I only just broke up with my girlfriend, and I thought it would be easy to get back in the dating field but it's not. I mean, it's not that I still love her, because I don't, but you know..." I was such a liar. But it seemed to work.
"Oh, poor you. I understand now." She put her hand on my shoulder and rubbed it gently.
"Why you seemed so inexperienced. You were just scared."
"Inexperienced?" I was indignant, and for good reason. I was probably the most experienced person in that whole club.
"Yeah. Don't take it as an insult or anything."
"Oh I do though. I could have anyone I wanted, and at anytime no less, and you call me inexperienced!"
"But of a big head aren't you?" I grabbed her arm and pulled her in front of me.
"I have good reason to be."
"Why don't you show me then?" She was grinning down at me. I was just about to do exactly as she said, when I realised I was giving in.
"No. I'm sorry, but I promised myself I wouldn't." And with that I stalked back in to the club. I found the table again and grabbed my jacket. "Sorry guys, I have to go. I can't take it anymore."
"Oh but Rosa!"
"No, you guys have fun. I have to get back." They moaned but let me go, and I drove back home, happy that I had resisted the temptation to show Carmen exactly how experienced I was.
