Hadley: Clothes ShoppingMature

I picked a few clothes, mainly t-shirts and jeans but there were a couple shirts and a hoodie in there as well. Maxxie handed me a couple more hoodies and started wandering around looking at stuff he wanted. I figured I’d be warm enough in hoodies even if Maxxie’s one was only just about doing the job.

"I'm gonna go try these on"

He glanced at me and smiled. "Sure"

I went off to try everything on, mainly so I could actually tell if I even had remotely the right size. Turns out I did for most stuff. There were a couple things that were too small and a couple that were too big. I couldn’t be bothered to try and find them in the right size so I figured I could do without them. I went back over to Maxxie once I was done with less stuff and saw he’d picked out a few shirts and a cardigan for himself. The dork was busy frowning at another shirt.

"Keep frowning like that and you'll upset it"

He looked round at me. "I can't decide if I like it or not"

I rolled my eyes and he picked it up, holding it against himself.

"What d'you think?"

"Looks nice"

He stuck it on the pile over his arm and hummed. "You got all you want here?"

"I think so"

He smiled and walked over to the cash register to pay for everything. I frowned a tiny bit.

"I still don't like you spending money on me"

He laughed slightly. "Don't worry about it"

I felt myself still kind of frowning.

"This is coming out of my savings account. I've barely touched it. I think the most expensive thing that's come out of it recently was Caleb's trip to Mexico" he shrugged.

"I still feel bad" I mumbled and he kissed my cheek.

I still sort of frowned but didn’t say anything else about it. He handed me the bags once he’d paid for everything.

"There, you can carry them if you feel so bad" he giggled.

I chuckled and he hummed. Apparently the guy loved shopping since he wandered into another shop. I arched an eyebrow at him since he obviously hadn’t picked up on my hatred of shops but he just pointed me over to warm clothes and fangirled over all the clothes in the store. I picked up a couple more things but to be honest I probably had enough already. I followed him around, sighing at the look in his eye that said he wanted to buy everything. He giggled and settled on some new jeans and a couple of tops.

"How have you not bankrupted yourself yet? It's like watching a girl when there's a sale on"

"Coming from a family that's good with investments is very useful sometimes" he grinned.

I shook my head with a smile.

"My parents were very liberal with the pocket money right up til I came out. I was clever and saved it all. Oh and granddad is convinced that no one can survive on cafe work, so he insists on paying something towards living costs. I save that too" he smiled.

"You're so a conman"

"I tried to tell him that cafe work was enough but he's stubborn like that and threw a paddy when I wouldn't take it"

I smiled.

"And who am I to say no to free money?" he grinned.

I shook my head again and laughed.

He dragged me around even more shops but to be honest I wasn’t even looking at clothes anymore. Maxxie kind of noticed but he was too busy being excited over all the clothes. Eventually he was done and took me to some place that wasn’t Starbucks for coffee. I did see a Starbucks, though.

“How do you shop so much?" I asked, sounding almost worn out.

He just giggled. "I'd ask how can you not, but I know I'm more girly about stuff than most guys" he said with a grin.

"Really? I'd never have guessed" I smirked.

He chuckled. "At least I realise it. Some guys I've met haven't got a clue how fucking girly they are"

"I hope I'm not included in that" I laughed.

He shook his head.

"Good" I smiled and he hummed.

"I need to go to the estate agents later"

"Want me to come with?"

"If you want. It'll be more boring than shopping, though"

"I don't mind"

He shrugged and said with a smile. "Sure"

I smiled back and he finished his coffee. I was barely halfway through mine so he got another. I arched an eyebrow at him.

"Slow down there, cowboy"

He looked from me to the coffee. "What?"

"Ever heard of caffeine poisoning?"

"Mhm. It takes about eight esspressos. This is only my second coffee today, chill out" he smiled and I sighed contentedly.

I sipped at my coffee with a smile as he looked slightly more relaxed about being in London.

"So is there anything in London you wanna see at all?" he asked and I shrugged.

"I'm not really bothered about seeing stuff"

He looked a tiny bit relieved at that. "Sure?"

"Yeah. Unless there's anything you think I should see I'm happy just to hang out at your place"

"Not particularly. But then I'm not the best person to ask" he laughed slightly.

"Oh yeah?"

"Well, I call my own home country a bog in the middle of nowhere and wouldn't miss it if it mysteriously sunk" he shrugged and I chuckled.

He smiled and I drank some more coffee.

"Remind me to put a nicotine patch on before we go to the estate agents. Filling forms out and doing legal stuff pisses me off"

"Good thing I'm coming along then"

He hummed. "Has to be said you    do     calm me down more than a nicotine patch" he said with a smile.

I blushed slightly and he giggled. I blushed a tiny bit more and he leant over and kissed me. I kissed back and he finished his coffee again. I still hadn’t finished mine and could tell he was just going to get another one.

"Don't you dare get another one"

The look of temptation on his face was unmissable.

"Don't. You. Dare"

"Meanie" he pulled a fake sulky face.

"I'm sorry but three coffees in under an hour isn't healthy. Or normal"

He chuckled. "Well usually, I'd sit outside with a few cigarettes in between but I'm not allowed anymore" he poked his tongue out and I sighed.

"You are impossible"

He kissed me again. "Blame England. It makes me grumpy"

I kissed back and laughed a little. He pretended to sulk.

"Dunno why you're laughing. You realise the mother will want to be here for dinner. Enjoy me in a good mood while it lasts"

"I can think of ways to cheer you up"

He chuckled. "Wait til she's out of the house at least"

I rolled my eyes and laughed a little.

He smiled. "I'm not joking. Me hugging you will be pushing it for her. I don't  mind fighting with her, it's you I don't wanna ruin the stay for"

"Don't worry, I think I can manage"

"I'll try not to throw a fit, but I can't promise anything" he chuckled and I pecked him on the lips.

He kissed back and I finished up my coffee. He took one look at his shopping.

"We'll get a taxi back" he giggled.

"I still don't get how you bought that much"

"You and shopping are the things that make being here bearable, put it that way"

I smiled and he kissed me. I giggled as I kissed back and he just about managed to gather up all his bags before wandering out to find a taxi. I took a couple bags off him and he laughed slightly.

"No problem"

He hummed and I leant on him. He smiled and eventually managed to hail a cab. I leant on him again once we were in the cab and he put an arm around me. I hummed and he pecked me on the cheek.

"Can the estate agent wait til tomorrow?" I asked.

"Cause there's a couch back at your place with both our names on"

He chuckled. "It can probably wait an hour or so*

"That's good enough"

He smiled and I pecked him on the lips. He kissed back and I smiled. Something told me once I got on that couch I wasn’t exactly gonna get off it.

The End
