The mall was really busy. Ranette pulled me around like she hadn't been shopping in years.

"So we have to get you a new outfit to celebrate the new job..."

"...which I haven't even got yet..."

"...but you will get. So a new outfit for the job talk, and a new outfit for tonight."

"Fine but..."

"Do you even know..."

"...what you were going to say? Of course. Sexy, but you don't want to look like a slut right?"

"Yes." I sighed. She really did know me too well. We were even finishing sentances now.

She pulled me in to her fave shop and set to piling my arms with clothes she wanted to try on. She also added a few I should like. I did.

We tried them on, showing each other every outfit. I eventually chose the one she said I would, the little black dress with the purple belt around the middle. It was adorable. We also found a nice pair of army trousers which I wanted, and a smart/casual shirt for my job 'talk'. I had some trousers I could wear with it already, so we headed to the mall cafe to eat.

Back at Ranette's we changed, hailed a taxi, and then headed off for the club. It was an all gay club, so I looked forward to teasing Nett about all the girls flirting with her, but I didn't think I would be taking anyone home this soon after the breakup. I still have standards.

I'd almost forgotten about the kiss between Ranette and I until she wrapped her arm round my waist as we stepped out of the taxi. Then I blushed at the memory.

"You ok?"

"Yeah, let's just get inside." I pulled her in and headed straight for the bar. I grabbed two drinks and downed one, passing her the other.

"Woah, I'm guessing you want to get drunk?"

"No, I just needed one to start off the evening." I put down the glass and she gestured out on to the floor.

"You want to dance?"

"Not yet."

"Oh ok." She leaned on the bar. Within a matter of seconds, a girl cam eover and asked her to dance. She was about to refuse when I pushed her out on to the floor.

"Go, have fun!" She paused, then let the girl pull her on to the floor. I ordered another drink, and then saw a woman sitting alone at the other end of the bar. She looked really down. I walked over.

"Hey, you want another drink?"

"Leave me alone."

"Sorry." I sat down and started to drink my other.

"Sorry, I was rude. I just had a shit day." She looked up. She was kind of gorgeous. She had this cute little nose and blue eyes.

"I know the feeling. What's your poison?"

"Vodka, thanks."

"Vodka for the lady." The bar tender passed her one. She gulped it down.

"Kitty." She stook out her hand. That must be her name.

"Rosalita." I shook her hand. "You wanna dance?"

"Look, I just got dumped b mygirlfriend, so I'm really not feeling too flirty right now."

"No problem. I just got dumped by mine."

"How are you so happy?"

"It wouldn't have lasted. And I'm trying not to think about it. And I just got a job offer."

"So not all bad then?"

"No, not all bad."

"Well good for you." She took her drink and wandered off. I shrugged.

"Suit yourself." I took another swig then headed out on to the floor. I found Ranette just leaving her dance partner.

"Hey, where do you think you're going?"

"She's a crap dancer."

"Then dance with me." I put my arms around her neck and grinned. "I love this song."

"I know." Her hands were on my hips, and as we danced she slid them round, so we were closer. I breathed in her smell.

"Nett...about what happened yesterday."

"Look, Annie is the one missing out."

"No, no, I mean, what happened before that. When, when we kissed."

The End
