"One, two, three, four! Tuck those arms in Kate. Three, two, three, four. Four, two, three, four. Let me see that passion!" I turned and grinned at the director and producer. They both looked happy.
"Well done Rosa, you may have a future in this you know."
"So let's see the last number, the big number, and we'll begin shooting ahead of schedule thanks to you."
"That was the last number." Their faces dropped. I laughed. "Kidding! Ok guys and girls, the last number please." They all assembled, and I pressed play.
After the number, the producer was staring at the group, and the director was half way to raising his drink to his lips. They stayed like that for about a minute before beginning to clap enthusiastically.
"Rosa, you know when I said you may have a future in this. I was wrong, you do. Here, this is the number for the director of a new show that's going to start rehearsals in a month. They will definately want to meet you."
"Wow, thanks." I took the number and turned to face the group. "Well thanks guys, have a break and then they're going to start filming. You've been fab, let's make it just as good in the actually film." They all came round and hugged me. "hey hey, I'm not going yet. I'll still be around until you've finished shooting." I felt a tear in my eye as Kate hugged me.
"Thank you" she whispered.
"Oh come here!" I tried to hug as many people as possible. The guy who was filming the backstage shots came round and started filming. "No! Oh no, come on!!!! I've avoided this for that long and you've got me! It's not even my last day!!! It's the last rehearsal! Oh, who cares!" I threw my arms around Dan, the male lead, and he lifted me in a big bear hug. "Argh!!!"
I slipped away in to the toilets to stop myself crying, and sorted my makeup out. When I emerged, Kate was there.
"You're brilliant you know."
"Thanks. So are you." I flung an arm around her as we walked.
"So, are you going to call that number?"
"Yeah, I think I am." I pulled out my mobile and dialled the number.
"Hi, this is Rosalita Alexandria. The producer of the new movie I'm choreographing told me to call you. His name is Charlie Bates."
"Ah, so you're the fantastic choreographer he's been talking about. Well, I need a choreographer, so if you can make it down to sunset studios tomorrow at five, I'll talk to you."
"Wow, yeah, that'd be great."
I hung up and Kate grinned.
"Good news then?"
"I think so yeah."
"Great. Now come and have a coffee with me. I'm beat."
