Sapphire: MemoriesMature

As I stumbled into my dorm room, half asleep, my roommate Sarah caught me. She laughed.

"Where've you been all day?" she asked me, helping me over to my bed. I fell over and threw my arm accross my eyes.

"School. Then I had a um, well, a... band meeting." I moved my arm to peek at her. She was glaring at me.

"You're the worst liar in the world." she stated matter-of-factly. "Besides, if you'd gone to band, you would have brought that." she said, pointing to my flute in front of my closet.

I groaned and sat up. "Ok, you've caught me. I was....out."

"Oooo, as in, with a guy. On a date?" Sarah asked, nudging me with her shoulder.

I rolled my eyes. "Well, not exactly.." And at that moment, the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" Sarah called, rushing to the door.

"No!" I cried, expecting Agent Simmons again. Instead, outside the door stood our leader himself, Matt Geller.

"Oh, uh, hi Matt." I said shyly, stepping up to the door. Sarah gave me a look, like is this him? I gave a look back that said, we'll talk later. Sarah nodded.

"We'll I'm gonna go see if they have any good snacks at the food hall. See ya later." She winked at me as she walked down the hall.

I rolled my eyes. "Roommates. Anyways, please come in!" I opened the door wider to invite him in.

He walked in side and looked around.

"Sorry, we don't have enough room for chairs, but please, have a seat." I gestured over to Sarah's bed, directly accross from mine. He took a seat. So did I.

"So.." I said.

"Do you know why you're on the team?" he asked me.

I blinked, confused. "Um, not really. I mean, my dad was in the army, but I don't know what that would have to do with me. Unless it has to do with his killer.."

Without meaning to, I spilled my life story. Afterwards, Matt nodded. "Thanks, Sapphire. You're the only that's told me anything." Then, he got up and left.

I lay back down and brought up all the faces that were at the meeting, one face catching my eye. Scott. I'd almost forgotten about him..

He and my dad became good freinds when they were both stationed in Camp Pendleton, California about 5 years ago. I was 14. Scott was 20. By this time, my dad had been training me for 2 years.

My first introduction to Scott was at training. I walked into the feild, right behind my dad. There in the middle, by the practice dummies, stood a man. My father introduced him as his freind Scott, and said he'd be helping me train with my guns.

To be honest, I pretty much hated him at first. I mean, who is this guy, butting in on my practices with my dad. But by the time we left there, a year later, I had a massive crush on him.

But then my dad went to Iraq. And was killed. And I pushed myself harder on my training. I droned out the world and became a mercenary. And then that fatefull mission.

Scott and I were on oppisite sides. His job was to steal a diamond. I still have no idea why, but I was supossed to stop him. I completed my misson, but never talked to him again.

The End
