In the morning the sun almost blinded me when my eyes finally flickered open. I turned my head, shielding my eyes with Luca’s chest. I still had that glow in me though, that glow that I had missed for so long. It was good to be back; if the sun wasn’t so bright. Oh and as for last night, no, I haven’t forgotten about Benny. But, what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. Not that he’d care anyway; I just found no reason to tell him. I wonder if Luca’s awake yet. I mean, I can’t really tell from this angle.
I heard him moan, but he didn’t wake up, so I slipped off him and from under his arm. I slowly and almost silently made my way to the shower. Okay, the glow was a nice feeling. The feeling of warm water sliding over my body, ridding me of all the remnants of last night was just as good. I felt clean. It was good.
When I got out, I was rubbing my hair dry when I spotted Luca laying there, his eyes only slightly open. “Oh, good morning...God,” I smiled.
He smiled his expression still kinda sleepy, "morning gorgeous." I moved over to the bed, sitting on the edge, leaning over to kiss him. He kissed me back and I smiled.
“Do you want me to get you a coffee or something?” It seemed a perfectly good question; he looked half- asleep still, despite the shining sun glaring through the window.
"That'd be good," he mumbled, his voice rough.
I smiled, “Just as good as the sex last night, hmm?” Because I don’t think I owe you anything anymore.
"Coffee can't beat sex," he laughed, clearing his throat and sitting up.
"Good to hear." I laughed back, "well, I'll meet you at the bus then, or back here?"
"Here... I need a shower."
"Okay, I'll be back soon." I smiled, kissing his cheek, but as I tried to leave he pulled me back, kissing me before finally allowing me to go.
I walked to the bus and ran upstairs, Alice was safe and still sleeping, so I snuck out again and took a brief sprint down the road to a Wal-Mart that was joined with a MacDonald’s. I ordered two coffees and paid with the money in my back pocket. Don’t you just love it when you randomly find money?
I returned to the motel room, happy to find Luca out of the bed. I somehow didn’t think he moved as half of him looked dead, the other half looked asleep. “Luca, I have coffee!” I called, taking another sip from mine as I sat back on the edge of the bed.
"One sec," he called back. A moment later, he walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.
I couldn’t help but laugh, I dunno what I found funny I guess with his wet hair draped over his face, a towel roughly tied round his waist as he shimmied from the bathroom... it was just a little funny. “Here.” I smiled, handing him one of the cups. Ignoring me laughing at him, he sat on the edge of the bed with the cup, concentrating on drinking it and not burning his mouth on it. I finished my now cool coffee, "so, what's the agenda for today?"
"Probably practice for a bit. Well, the other guys will practice, I'm not gonna be singing, though, 'cause we got that show tonight. What about you?"
"I dunno, I'm too tired to do anything, I might just sit and watch." I laughed, "I'm too out of practice."
"It shows," he laughed too, finishing his coffee. Lying down, he made his cigarettes float over to him and he pulled one out, lighting it. "I'll get you back into practice," he glanced at me, smirking.
"Hey! Was I that bad?" I whined then sighed, flopping down next to him.
"Definitely not," he smiled, turning his head to kiss me gently. I kissed him softly, but swiftly, recoiling at the taste of ash, eugh.
He looked back at the ceiling and sighed. "Sorry," he muttered.
“It’s fine.” I shrugged, “we should be getting back though, I need to check on Alice and you need to check on Rayn.”
"Rayn is his own responsibility," he mumbled, getting up again, wandering into the bathroom. Yeah, I don’t trust him on his own though.
I got up, throwing the cups into the bin as I rested on the door. You know what I want to know? What’s Damien’s problem? I ponder what it could be, each idea ridiculous. Until Luca appeared again and interrupted my thoughts, “ready to go back?”
"Yeah, I didn't bring anything, did I?"
"Other than yourself, nope, nothing else was needed." I laughed.
He smiled and took my hand. "C'mon then... let's see how Rayn's coping with that bird hanging around." I smiled; taking his hand as we finally left the Motel.
